1: What inspired you to start blogging? And how long have you been blogging?
For most of my life, I have described myself as NOT crafty! However, when I started teaching first grade, I realized that my job required some craftiness. After my son was born, I became a stay-at-home Mom, and I found myself missing projects! I loved the feeling of creating something beautiful. I stumbled upon craft blogs one day, and immediately got sucked in! Especially when I realized that I could make some of the projects I saw! My husband travels 4-5 days per week every week, and I definitely need hobbies to keep busy. Crafting quickly became my hobby. Finally, I decided to start Oopsey Daisy as my way to keep track of all of my projects.
2: What crafting material can you not live without?
Mod Podge, all different kinds! I think I use mod podge with almost everything I make. Love this stuff! Glitter might be a close second. Who doesn’t love glitter?!
3: What craft/ DIY project are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my quiet books. Last spring, I had the bright idea to create a quiet book, but had no clue what I was getting myself into! I wanted to quit the project several times, but I worked away at it, little by little. It was a 6-month labor of love! Now, I am so proud of those books, and they have saved me time after time at church.
4: What is your biggest DIY disaster moment?
Well, with a blog named Oopsey Daisy, you might guess that there are little disasters along every step of the way! I seem to always do things the hard way. I am constantly leaving fingerprints, having to tear out stitches, or just scrap a project all together. But every once in a while I find a daisy among my oopseys! 🙂
5: What are your current blog crushes?
I have entirely too many blog crushes! Right now, I am loving Katherine Marie Photography, Delia Creates, and The Idea Room , among many, many others! And of course C.R.A.F.T. has always rocked my world! 🙂
