Feeding baby solids {Happy Family}

December 21, 2014 By Jamie Dorobek 1 Comment

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Happy Family Products . All opinions are 100% mine.

Maxwell is 8.5 months old (ahh! Here is his 6 month update.) and loves food. Just a side note in case this happens to others mamas: At 6 months, we started giving him one tiny meal of real food a day, and Maxwell was not a fan. He didn’t like sweet potatoes, peas, bananas, avocados, I was pretty sure I was going to have to breast feed him forever. I attempted to feed him some kind of real food once a day. He mostly made faces and spit it out. And then one day, about 6 weeks later (7.5 months old), I gave him mushed bananas with cinnamon and he devoured it. Now, one month later, he eats everything. I’m talking curry, onions, yogurt, kale, anything. Weird stuff that I’m pretty sure I didn’t eat until I was an adult.

So, with the holidays here, we will be traveling here and there and everywhere and Happy Family is going to make my life a heck of a lot easier! (Tips for traveling with babies on planes and tips for traveling with babies in cars) Maxwell’s first Christmas is off to an awesome start… He met Santa for the first time and ate puffs on Santa’s lap, ha! He’s even opened a few presents and declared tissue paper his favorite. Since he is the first grandbaby on both sides, he is a very hot commodity… everyone wants him!

We are going to try our best to accommodate both sides of our fams and give them what they want… Maxwell!  We will bring Maxwell’s favorite Happy Family snack on all of our travels… yogurt and fruit snacks, that’s what is in that purple and white bag next to his right foot! That’s also what he is feeding himself in the picture above. Feeding himself is one of his favorite things to do and keeps him entertained on planes, cars, and at restaurants!Happy familyOh and did I mention that Happy Family is always certified organic, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial food coloring, and no genetically modified ingredients. Happy mama, happy baby! Happy family I love that Happy Family has such a variety of baby foods. I also really like that Maxwell can practice his pincher skills and feed himself the puffs, yogurt snacks, and teethers. He likes to eat the pouches on his own too, but that makes a giant mess. So for now, we feed him the pouches from a spoon! Happy familyHow do you feed your baby on the go? I’d love to hear… Enjoy a $1 off coupon for Happy Family baby food pouches and let me know what you (and baby) think! Visit the Happy Family website to learn about organic baby and toddler food.
