Note: This post is sponsored by World Market, but all opinions are my own.
I teamed up with Cost Post World Market again this year to Share the Joy with others! (Here’s last years Share the Joy post.) I decided to Share the Joy with Helping Hand Home, a local children’s home I worked with in college at the University of Texas! Fostering and/ or adopting kiddos is something Andy and I have always talked about. But baby steps here, let’s see how we do with the first bambino, ha!
So, World Market donated $200, and I got to go shopping for kids! Super fun! I checked out the Helping Hand Home wish list, and discovered that they are in need of jewelry and accessories for teen girls! Perfecto. I can do that! I was a little nervous about picking out stuff for a teenage girl, but I think I did well. I put on my high school teacher hat, and shopped like a maniac. Here are a few of my favorite pieces… each earring set was only $4.99! The super cute arrow necklace was $10, but I know that sucker will be a big hit… I had to buy a few of those!
Oh and the infinity scarf is one of my favorite things. No debating about how to wear it, just wrap that sucker around your neck once or twice and voila! I actually own 2 from last year! I bought an emerald green one at the beginning of the year when emerald was announced as the color of the year. I’m very hip don’t ya know, ha! I’m loving the jewel tone infinity scarf color choices this holiday season! Here is what I ended up with:
- 6 infinity scarves
- 15 pieces of jewelry
- 5 pairs of gloves
- 2 duck tape fashion kits
I just couldn’t help myself with the duck tape fashion kits, you know I like to encourage creativity! You can use it to cover journals, notebooks, folders, make wallets, ohhh the possibilities are endless!
I dropped off the basket last week, but sadly they won’t let you take pics inside. I’m mad at myself for not at least taking a picture of the box and the sign, but there were lots of landscapers working away and for some reason shyness overcame and I was to embarrassed to whip out the ol’ camera an snap a selfie with my big ol’ basket! #BadBlogger I snapped this pic on the way out, very quickly I might add!
I really wish I could see the girls get their goodies… that would be extra fun! I guess I just think about my own personal excitement from spotting that cute little arrow necklace and I am quickly assured that World Market and I just made lots of teenage girls super happy. Helping Hand Home even sent a sweet personalized thank you note… That was pretty sweet, huh?!
Psst… I hope you and your fam have a wonderful turkey day tomorrow! There will not be a post since I’ll 100% be gobblin’ and wobblin’ for 2!
