Andy and I aren’t very fancy dinner eaters. Dinner usually consists of eating out of the same giant salad bowl and serving ourselves from the pot on the stove. I guess my point is making dinner fancy for us isn’t very tricky! Candles, flowers, fabric place mats, and eating out of cute glass bowls= instant fancy time! Not to mention, we got a pretty new Soma. She’s a water filter that lives in a handcrafted glass carafe complete with a 100% biodegradable filter. I’ve always been a good water drinker, but as a prego it’s more important than ever to get plenty of H2O. Seriously, the calf cramps must stop! I actually googled, in the middle of the night, “Can you die from calf cramps” a few nights ago! #NoMoreCharlieHorses (Here’s lots more advice on that topic!)
Back to the taco bar, one of the most viewed posts on C.R.A.F.T. is about party bar ideas. We’ve tried food stations out with pizza for Christmas and for Valentines Day… it’s fun! I wanted to give tacos a test run. It is officially delicious and a great way to feed a crowd. Just cook up a bunch of ground beef, gets lots of fresh tortillas, and set out plenty of toppings. Here are Andy and I’s favorite taco toppings:
- Sour cream
- Hot salsa varieties
- Black olives
Oh and I have a special pot holder that I deemed a tortilla holder long ago. I warm up the torts and serve them in the same pretty yellow striped pot holder. I love that the Soma can sit out on our table, and look pretty. It encourages me to refill that water glass often! She actually adds to the cuteness of the table, don’t ya think? Not to mention, the Soma…
- Holds up to 6, 8ox glasses of water.
- Is dishwasher safe.
- Utilizes an all-natural filter that is made from Malaysian coconut shell carbon, four layers of fine silk, and a plant-based filter casing.
- Expired filters are biodegrade in commercial composting facilities.
- The lid never falls off thanks to a specially designed seal.
- AND every filter you buy helps bring clean, safe drinking water to those in need, through our partners at charity: water.
And here’s probably my favorite feature, the filling up process. I heart this pour through lid. See what I mean:
And just for fun, here’s my handsome husband, crafting up a taco…
What does a fancy dinner mean to you and your fam? Do you ever host a make your own ____ party? Do you use a filtered water pitcher? Did you experience charlie horses when you were pregnant? I’d love to hear…
Oh and just so you know, when you purchase Soma for $49, you are automatically enrolled in their fresh filter program, which sends replacement filters to your home every two months. The cost is $12.99 (less than $0.25 per day). And shipping is always free. Soma would be an awesome Christmas gift!
