I am going to my very first blog conference next weekend 🙂 and I must say I am pretty excited.
So, I have been told I need business cards to hand out to new friends…here are my issues:
#1: I don’t have a business
#2: My blog is creating really awesome free things…I can’t buy business cards!
#3: #2 doesn’t matter since I’m poor anyway 🙂
So, I decided to make my own business cards! Here is my first prototype out of cereal boxes and things around the house…please tell me what you really like, don’t like, or ways to make them better…
These are deinfitly custom business cards 🙂
Also, is 50 enough?

Love these and so fitting for a craft blog! I'm sharing on my fb page. The stitching detail is adorable =) So creative! Hope you are having a wonderful week! ~Stephanie Lynn
I think this is a great idea! Business cards can be exspensive so I love that you used things you had around the house.

love them! thanks for sharing at my saturday soiree! i featured them today on my blog!
What a great idea!!!
I would never have thought of it – maybe I get stuck thinking I can't make things like this? – and I LOVE the stitching!!!
I think the best part is that you used cereal boxes and what you could find. Don't change that for something that looks too fabricated. It is that interesting touch that REALLY makes them stand out!!!
I made buisness cards for my first blog conference by sewing paper with my info onto cards cut from wallpaper samples. My homemade cards were a great conversation starter!
Yours are awesome.
Those are fantastic! Well done, but I think you'll need more!
So clever. So great. I think 50 is definitely enough. Well done.
simply genius!
Love the cards — They are perfect, especially if you leave the original packaging exposed on the back!!!! Brilliant!
I just bumped into your blog and LOVE it…the cards? wonderful! as long as they're not so time consuming to make, I feel they epitomize what you and your blog are all about, which is perfect. I've never been to a blog conference, but I've talked w/people who've gone and have been to business conferences myself, and I know that I pass out my blog's cards all the time…with that, we all know that blogging is about networking…think of it this way, do you only want to give 50 people your card? about 1/2 of them might actually stop by (you get TONS of cards at those conferences and alot of them end up in the trash), so that means only 25 new people will stop by, and about 1/2 of those will become followers (12 or so) and only about half of those will suggest or share your blog with others. so if you think about it in those terms, 50 is definitely not enough. I've talked w/people who have taken over 500 cards and ran out the first day…it all depends on how much networking you want to do for your blog. hope this helps.
They are amazing. I have a business and cards and they suck compared to what you have created. I adore them and to have then on something you upcycled just speaks volumes. Tell us how they fair when you hand them out. I am sure many will adore them.

I'm tweeting this. and sharing on fb. love love love the idea.
My blog conference is first weekend of nov! You are a rock star with the business cards. we must have a follow up post. I need to know what happened.
this is so cute and eco-friendly, me like… i clicked over here from a linky party and i'm totally adding you to my blogroll
Fantastic idea! Please share how you made them 🙂 inquiring minds want to know. You might create a neat, matching business card holder to keep them in while passing out.
Just an idea, you could create a cool business card keeper for all the business cards you will get in return. This way they will be organized & everyone will get to see your handy work. If I don't have mine, I tend to stick business cards I get in my purse & they get lost or crushed.
I have to say that I love love LOVE your new business cards!
I really feel like I need some too, and now you are inspiring me to make my own instead of buying them. It never occurred to me that I could do that! People are always asking me about my blog and I am forever wishing for some cool cards.
Have fun at your conference!
How creative! Is your website or e-mail on the back? That might be the only thing I would consider changing! If I was handed one, it would be my favorite! Visiting from shabby nest. Happy Friday!
Now these are definitely memorable! Love them!
I would like to invite you to the Fantastic Frugal Fridays . It is the place to link up your frugal posts of all kinds.
These are awesome! A perfect fit for you I think!
Love them! Wish I was going to Bloggy Bootcamp with you! Can't wait to hear all about it!
I love them! Simple, clean, and totally in standing with your blog philosophy! Can I still the idea? (but not exactly, of course)
🙂
I love these cards!!! I was wishing I had some "mom" cards but not wanting to spend the money and you've given me yet another ide!!!

i love them!!! the stitching looks fabulous! i agree with the comments above… 50 will not be enough! everyone is going to want one!
I love these, simple effective and memorable. Maybe add what your blog does on the back of the card. 50 will not be enough as everyone is going to want one (they are going to be the hottest thing at the conference. Have fun can't wait to hear how it goes when you get back.
Oh, I love them! They are so chic and will be so memorable and noticeable to other conference goers!!! Great job! Do you have your blog addy on them? Do you need it to be? I've never been to a conf, so I have no idea, but I really like what you've designed! Have F.U.N. !!!
