C.R.A.F.T. # 23: Clue games for every occasion

March 7, 2010 By Jamie Dorobek Leave a Comment

* Here is an updated post on the birthday clue games scavenger hunts!
Clue games are something my mom did for us when we were kids, usually for our birthday. She would use note cards and draw pictures of where are clues were hidden. The first note card might have a picture of the dryer on it, so you run to the dryer and to find your next clue. In the dryer there would be a picture of a our tire swing… we would run frantically to the tire swing to find our next clue. Catch my drift? Sometimes there would be 20 clues… this kept us busy! As the oldest of 6 kids, I think that was the goal!
Clue games for every occasion

So as an adult, I have made clue games for the BF, and he loves them too 🙂 I don’t use pictures for him, I write little rhyming couplets…

For example:

i have lots of keys of black and white,
i can play you a beautiful song if you would like 🙂

(I would hand this to him, answer: piano)

this was once bell’s room, but now my dressing suite,
this is where i sit to primp, or paint the toes on my feet (answer: vanity stool)

under the b- bed, you will find your next clue,
you may have to ask around to figures out whos is whos.

(answer: my little brothers bedroom)

we like to wedge in a particular place,
look in between and under, and hurry it is a race 🙂

(answer: the couch)

we have an unusual pet that comes in the night,
it scares the crap out of us, and it never comes in the light.

(answer: cat bowl)

once a year, on a special night, Santa plants goodies in me, much to my delight
i hang from the mantel, and look very cute, look for the one that has a kite!

(answer: a stocking hanging from the mantel)

this is the last clue, your presents awaits:

something sweet, something yummy,
always kept in a yellow bag and end up in your tummy!

So as you can see, the gift ended up in the pantry, where the chocolate chips live! You can put other little treats throughout the game too…!

This is fun for everyone!
