How cute are these popcorn sea horses? First read, Mister Seahorse, and then craft these fun colored popcorn seahorses with the kids!
Sea horse popcorn craft with Eric Carle

Have I mentioned all of the recent kid crafts were created by Annie in her preschool classroom? These are all her pictures too. Thank goodness she doesn’t have a blog!

Materials for Popcorn Sea Horses

  • powdered tempera paint
  • glue
  • sea horse cut outs
  • popcorn
  • zip lock bag

Step 1 – Popcorn

Pop a bag of microwave popcorn and let it cool.

Step 2 – Add powder

Place the popcorn in a freezer size zip lock bag. Add powder tempera paint to the popcorn and let the kids shake it up.

Step 3 – Admire

Admire the colored popcorn. It’s so pretty!

Step 4 – Glue

Glue your popcorn to the sea horse cut outs.

This is such an original idea! We are having “beach week” at our home and might try this one out with my 4 and 2 year olds! 🙂
