Welcome to my parent’s home…
all spruced up for Christmas. My mom does simple, clean, traditional Christmas decorations... Are you ready for the Christmas decorations grand tour 🙂Â
[my mom loves to give tours and tell you all the details!]

1. Cross Stitched Stockings
My mom hand stitched all of these beauties! They are my mom’s favorite Christmas decorations…they typically go up first and come down last! [side note: she is currently cross stitching stockings for her future grandchildren… She has NO grandchildren and none on the way!]

2. Texas Christmas Tree
5 years ago, we decided to try out a theme tree. We thought about many different Christmas tree themes. The idea was we would make a new themed tree every year. Well, the plan fell through, BUT the Texas tree gets prettier every year! The first year we did the tree, I helped my mom make all of the little signs, including the “Don’t Mess with Texas!” We made the western themed tree skirt out of a blanket.
3. Nutcrackers
My mom loves Tuesday Morning, and apparently they occasionally sell Nutcrackers for really good deals. She has scooped up these 7 over the years and adds Christmas balls to spruce up her most beloved decoration of all…her stockings 🙂
4. Advent Calendar
My grandmother actually made this for us when I was little. This was definitely the kids FAVORITE Christmas decoration. Thank goodness one of my brother’s birthday’s was on the 24th…Â because otherwise we would have fought over who got to put the star on the tree on the 24th!
5. Life Size Soldiers
I love these guys guarding the front doors! Check out the pot solider tutorial for more details about how to make them yourself.

Do have a favorite Christmas decoration that you get really excited about putting up every year? Tomorrow we are taking a Christmas tour of the little condo.
Lovin' the Texas tree!
Your parents house is lovely. I love the Texas tree. 🙂
