Unique Grooms Cake

March 24, 2011 By Jamie Dorobek 8 Comments

I’m the maid of honor in my child hood BFF’s wedding in September… I see lots more wedding round up’s in the future! Today I’m sharing 7 unique grooms cakes.

 1. Cheeseburger cake

The simple cheeseburger cake was oringially found on Let Them Eat Cake.

2. Pac Man

3. iPhone cake

4. Cheese rounds @ C.R.A.F.T.

5. Cake Ball Stadium @ Austin Cake Ball

6. Rubics Cube @ Cake Bee

7. Oreos cake

It doesn’t get much simpler or more delicious than a simple giant stack of Oreo cookies!

1 I had to leave shortly after addressing the crowd to attend a dinner party at my home in Bedford, but I was thrilled to stop in and say hello.

2 I spoke to the group about my passion for my blog and also The Daily Wag – Francesa and Sharkey’s blog.

3 Here I am snapping a picture of Darcy Miller and Tara Wilson of Tara Wilson Events. http://www.tarawilson.com/

4 And then I Twitpiced it

5 It worked – but not until the next morning as Twitter was acting up – this was the Twitpic.

6 We had about 400 bloggers attending.

7 The Martha Blog table – displaying some of my favorite photos that have appeared on this blog.

8 Attendees were each given a ‘passport’ and had to travel around to the different tables to get them stamped.

9 The editors from Gardens stamping their top ten NYC garden destinations

10 Once all of the proper stamps were acquired, guests could enter the raffle for some really great prizes.

11 The Daily Wag http://dailywag.marthastewart.com/splash.php table – Francesca and Sharkey could not be there.

12 Instead, they sent beautiful images of themselves.

13 Kevin Sharkey had a ping pong table set up with bright orange balls. That same table and balls can be seen the September decorating issue of Living featuring Kevin’s new apartment.

Did you have a groom’s cake? Which one is your favorite? I’d love to hear…

We want to make the Oreo cake as our only wedding cake. How many cookies are in the one in the picture? How long did it take to stack them? Did you make it the day of, if not how did you keep it fresh overnight? I don’t think we will have time to do it the day of…

I like the oreos and you could do different varieties of oreos for color. I think a mini donut cake similar to the oreos would be cool too and easy.

We had a groom's cake. My husband is big into Model United Nations and he wanted a gavel cake with the UN seal on it. Our cake person was able to do it and it looked great! Here's a link to the picture.
