Wrap it Up #10: Kraft paper and glitter

December 11, 2013 By Jamie Dorobek 39 Comments

This is the second to last tutorial in the Wrap it Up series, but it’s an extra good one and includes sparkle and kraft paper! Enjoy! Oh and did you see yesterday’s tutorial about wrapping with worn out stockings?!

DIY gift wrap ideas with kraft paper

Hi C.R.A.F.T friends!! I’m Sarah from Sarah M. Dorsey Designs and I’m so excited and honored that Jamie asked me to participate in her Wrap It Up series! Today I’m sharing a few wrapping ideas using kraft paper, adhesive and glitter. Let’s face it, glitter is messy, but to me, it wouldn’t be Christmas without it! I love the shine and depth that it adds – So worth a little extra vacuuming!

It’s super simple… Here’s how I did it!

First, I cut a piece of brown kraft paper and laid pieces of painters tape at a 45 degree angle. To space it, I placed two small pieces of tape as I went to make sure it was even.

I sprayed a light coat of spray adhesive, sprinkled glitter and then removed the tape.

For the polka dots, I used round glue dots and then sprinkled on glitter. I wasn’t too picky with the spacing, so it was little random – life’s too short to measure here. Thanks for the inspiration Brittany! Check out her amazing customized Ikea frames here.

I picked up some pom pom yarn from Ollie’s – it makes the perfect ribbon!

Isn’t everything is better with gold and glitter?! To see more of our DIY christmas tree, click here. Thanks so much for having me Jamie… this was fun!! Oh and if you’re new to my blog, feel free to stop by and say hi, I’d love to meet you!

Psst… Here are 11 more creative, ways to wrap gifts with this you have on hand!

I love the use of glitter with Kraft card and paper. I have produced a similar effect using glitter Washi tape on Kraft paper and this has produced some lovely wrapping paper. I wish all Christmas presents were wrapped like this!

Why not use double sided tape instead of spray adhesive?

Wow, you put some thought and effort into this! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fancier brown paper wrapper! I think I would have to cheat and wrap and just put one star on the top, haha! Thanks so much for sharing this on Throwback Thursday and have a great Holiday Season!

Yes! Everything is definitely better with glitter! I love it!
I wish I was better at wrapping presents. I usually opt for gift bags. But I suppose I could do the same thing on the bags 🙂
