Valentine Treats that Kids can Make

January 13, 2016 By Jamie Dorobek Leave a Comment

Amy is a pro at making cute and easy treats with the kids! I love that her jolly rancher lolly pops and these graham cracker sticks can be made by kids! She is inspiring me to get my butt in the kitchen with my little guy!

Making holiday treats with my three little boys is one of my favorite activities.  Since they are still pretty young, I always try to make it super simple, but something I know they will love.  And, of course, taste awesome!  These Valentine Cookie Sticks were very easy and my boys had a blast making them!

I found these micro heart sprinkles at my local grocery store this season.  They are adorable!  You really can use any Valentine sprinkles you have on hand.

We had fun just eating them for no reason at all, but how great would these be for a little class party!  Or package some up and give as a Valentine to friends, neighbors, and teachers!

The only prep I did ahead of time was breaking the graham crackers into smaller rectangles.  If you find that they are not breaking straight, use a serrated knife to gently cut them down the perforated lines.

Ready to bake? Here’s the super simple recipe for Valentine Cookie Sticks:

  • 6 large chocolate graham cracker rectangles, divided into fourths
  • 3/4 cup Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Valentine sprinkles

Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and set aside.
Place frosting into a microwave safe bowl and cook for 10-15 seconds.
Stir until the frosting is an even consistency, but melted.
Dip one end of each graham cracker into the melted frosting and gently shake off excess.
Place onto the baking sheet and immediately add sprinkles.
Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Let the frosting set for about 30 minutes before serving.
