CB2 Inspired peace wreath

October 24, 2013 By Jamie Dorobek 16 Comments

Knocktoberfest 2013 is in full swing! If you have no idea what I’m talking about here’s the deal: 28 bloggers got together and whipped up “knock off” decor projects from their favorite stores! It’s the brain child of my home town blog bud, Lindsey from Makely School for Girls. It’s really just an excuse to actually make something I’ve been drooling over in one of my glossy magazines!

If you hopped over from Sawdust Girl, Welcome! Glad you made it!

So, here’s the $50 Inner Peace Wreath my inspiration piece from CB2:

This is seriously an easy project, y’all! Here’s what you need:

  • 36 in’ wreath (Found mine at a thrift store for $14.)
  • Sticks ( We have a ton of Nandina in our yard, and those sticks worked perfectly!)
  • Grapevine wire (Bought at Hobby Lobby with half price coupon for $1.75)

Here is the fancy thrift store wreath I started with:

First thing I had to do was de- flower the wreath. Anyone want some silk flowers?

Then, I hunted in the backyard for sticks. I used 3 long ones in the middle and 4 on each side of the peace sign, so 11 sticks total.

I used twine to fix up the wreath and tie in the sticks.

Here is a close up of how I tied the peace middle of the peace sign together. Nothing fancy really.

Then, I realized that the twine was ugly and I needed to camouflage it. I thought about spray painting the entire wreath, but then I decided to take a little trip to Hobby Lobby just to check out the wreath section and see what they had. Behold grapevine wire! My craft saving tool of the day!

Here’s a close up of my new and improved everyday mantle! I’m definitely going to incorporate the peace wreath into a Christmas mantle and add lights to it! But for now, I’m enjoying this view:

And one more just for fun:

I crafted up the CB2 inspired peace wreath for less than $17, that’s more than half off of the original price of $50 from CB2! Anyone else whipping up any knock off’s lately? Head on over to see Cassity’s from Remodelaholic awesome new island table!

Love it — and so glad I didn’t choose that peace accent piece I almost chose to knock off from RH. That would have been like showing up at the dance in the same dress! LOL

I’m a CB2 lover, too, and I’ve been crushing over this wreath. It looks great! And grapevine wire? I didn’t know it existed! I bet that could be used for tons of cool stuff!
