For the past few years instead of buying so many presents, my family has opted to do a white elephant extravaganza. It’s such a fun, simple way to exchange gifts with lots of people. We usually have at least 10 people playing and we set the gift limit at $40. We try to make it things that people will actually use vs. dog butt magnets, even though those are pretty funny (my mom would not approve)! The big winner last year was a bakeware and brownie mixes. I’m the oldest of 6 kids, so most of my brothers don’t have fully stocked kitchens. Who am I kidding? I don’t either, ha! This year, I can’t think of anything amazing, so I’m likely just going to give cash. But, I want it to be creative, and y’all know I like my cheesy sayings! (I get ridiculously cheesy for Valentines Day!) So, here are 3 fun ways to give cash as a gift using a Pez dispenser, toilet paper, and play-doh!
(Psst… here are 21 more clever ways to give cash!)
For each of the 3 gifts, I made simple gift tags out of card stock, markers, and a hole punch. My printer is often out of ink or broken, so I’m over free printables right now, ha! To get the little tags on the gift bags, I just un did the knot from the inside the gift bag, and slipped on my handmade tag. Easy, peasy.
3 Creative Ways to Give Cash:
1. “You’re PEZ-ent is extra special this year!”: Roll up some cash and stick it in an empty Pez dispenser. There are so many fun Pez dispensers out there, I went with Frozen themed, but the Pez dispensers are endless! Christmas themed, Star Wars themed, or even Scooby Doo, which would have been fun for my bunch! As kids, that was one of our favorite cartoons!
2. “Just in case you get crap this Christmas, use this…!”: I first saw this as embroidered toilet paper from this etsy store, ha! I thought it would make the perfect white elephant gift with a few twenties in the middle. This is probably the winner for my families gift exchange because we’re classy bunch, ha!
3. “Cheers to a little extra dough!”: We have a few Play-Doh’s laying around our house, and it dawned on me that I could hide some cold, hard dough in a little container!
Do you have a favorite way to give cash as a gift? I did balloons one year, and that was awesome! (See #1 on this list of 21 more creative ways to give cash!)
