Creative Ways to Give Groupons

December 3, 2014 By Jamie Dorobek 3 Comments

Note: This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Groupon Gift Shop. All opinions are 100% mine.

Gift giving is really fun assuming you can find the perfect gift that you know the recipient will love! (Like my mom and her annual calendar!) But, let’s face it, some folks are really hard to buy for because well, they buy everything they need and want themselves (Andy!). This is one of the reasons I love to give experiences! You know, restaurants, massages, wine tasting, vacations! Groupon makes that affordable and easy. The tricky part of giving the gift of experience with Groupon is how to make the present more than just a piece of paper. This is a 3 part series about creative ways to give gift cards and/or Groupons. First up, can you guess what kind of Groupon I’m giving my girlfriend?

If you guessed a work out membership, gold star or you! Now, I wouldn’t go getting just any friend a work out membership. But how fun would it be to buy 2 of the same Groupons, one for you and one for your friend, and attend the work out together?! It’s a win-win! I’ve got your creative wrapping covered. Just use this tutorial about how to embroider burlap and stitch on “pump it up”! Then you can tape the Groupon into the back little pocket, like this:

And I just discovered that you can buy 2 burlap canvases for $4 at Walmart! And they are great for embroidering!

Do you have any go to methods for giving Groupons, gift cards, or experiences? I’d love to hear!

Psst… Here’s the how to embroider burlap tutorial!

I did not know that Walmart carried those great burlap canvases! I’ve added it to my list as it looks great with the embroidery! Thank you for sharing!

The burlap canvases from Walmart are PERFECT for embroidery because the holes are a little bigger! Have fun!
