These Valentines Day pretzels are the perfect treat for kids to hand out in the classroom. And lucky for me, Maxwell loves pretzels!

And I love that we can hand these out on Valentine’s Day in good conscience. They are very similar in design to the donut hole Valentine treats we posted about on Tuesday.

All you need for this little craft is:

  • snack sized zip lock bags
  • stick pretzels
  • 4×6 index cards
  • coloring utensils
  • Sharpie marker
  • brown paper bag
  • glue stick
  • stapler
  • scissors

I also love that you could substitute many things for pretzel sticks: celery sticks, carrot sticks, or even a childhood sugary favorite, pixie sticks would do the trick. Oh and if you’re doing sugar don’t forget about Pokey Sticks. A cheese stick would be tasty too.

To make this very complicated craft, fill a zip lock bag with pretzel sticks. Encourage your preschooler to color all over the notecard and then fold it hot dog style over the top of the zip lock bag and staple. Use a Sharpie marker to write, “Stick with me, Valentine!”. If your preschooler is scissor obsessed like mine, have him cut you a few scrap pieces of a brown paper bag and glue them to the note card bag topper. Psst… those are supposed to resemble pretzel sticks in case you were confused.

I love this and I love that it can be “kid-made”. My kids always enjoy giving more if they’ve made it themselves. 🙂 Pinned!
