Thank you cards

March 12, 2012 By Jamie Dorobek 4 Comments

Contrary to what people my think, you do get presents even if you don’t have a big ol’ wedding!
Since only 4 people were at our wedding, I thought it would be fun to make a picture thank you card to send out. I collaged 6 pictures and and added text using Picassa. I did lots of versions and manipulating… but hours later, we finally decided on this image…
I put this image on my jump drive and took it to Fed Ex Office to be printed on fancy card stock. I learned that textured card stock is not good for printing pictures! I printed 2 cards per sheet of card stock. I used a paper cutter to cut and then folded them in half!

And here they are… all 40 thank you cards.

People always ask me if I sell anything on etsy.com… and as much as I love etsy I can never think of anything that I would want to make again and again. Until, thank you card making! Just out of curiosity, how much would you pay for a pdf file of a personalized thank card that could be e-mailed to you and printed on your own? Or would you rather the cards printed for you? I’d love to hear…
Psst… Here is the whole wedding saga if you’re interested: the wedding announcement and plan is here, and then Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 of the living room ceremony. You can find more on the wedding after math here: how to change your last name, and the super simple wedding scrapbook.

These are so sweet! I love etsy too, but know what you mean about repeating the same craft… I'm lucky to finish the original for myself! I purchased some PDF party printables for Jackson's party once. My photoshop crashed and I was running out of time. I think I paid between $10-20 and printed them on my own. I felt it was reasonable considering I got a dozen or so images (cards, pendants, cupcake toppers, etc) PLUS I knew it would have taken me several hours to get it done. You should do it!! Oh, congrats again! I love everything about how you and Andy got married!

I don't know how much I would pay for them since I don't have any need for them in the near future. But I wanted to tell you how much I absolutely LOVE them! They are the cutest and most original thank you cards ever! Definitely worth selling on Etsy though.
