Walrus: Toilet paper tube crafts

April 19, 2016 By Jamie Dorobek Leave a Comment

W is for walrus! Oh and be sure to save the other half of this tp tube to make the “X” creature next week!

Walrus toilet paper roll crafts for kids!

Here’s what you need to make the toilet paper roll walrus:

  • 1/2 of a toilet paper roll
  • Scissors
  • Single hole punch
  • Pencil
  • Sharpie marker
  • Glue
  • White scrap paper
  • Cereal box

To start, cut your toilet paper roll in half. Then, grab your empty cereal box and doodle on the walruses head. This is a pretty simple head to make, think of it as just 3 circles. Once you like the head shape, outline it with black marker and cut it out! Add a nose and whiskers with the black marker. Next, cut out to tusks from white scrap paper and glue them to the back of the head. Glue the head to the top of the toilet paper roll and and add 2 white hole punches to make eyes. Last, cut a pair of flippers on either side of the tp tube and admire your walrus!

  • Walruses dine mostly on clams and mussels that they locate through their whiskers.
  • Walruses spend half of their time on land and half in water.
  • Walrus tusks are actually canine teeth and can grow to be about three feet long!

Next Tuesday I’ll have a “X” toilet paper tube creature to share with y’all!  That’s a tricky one!
