Year in Review {2012}

January 7, 2013 By Jamie Dorobek 1 Comment

Creating really awesome free things is one of my favorite things to do (have you noticed, ha!). Another one of my favorite things is lists. So, I thought it would be fun to combine 2 of my favorites and pick my most beloved C.R.A.F.T. post from each month and make a big ol’ list for the best of 2012. Interestingly enough, my favorites do not equal the most pageviews… oh well! I did a post last week with the top 10 most viewed C.R.A.F.T.’s.

Presenting my favorite C.R.A.F.T. posts of 2012…

January: Like I said above, I love lists, and this is a giant list of clever/ cheesy Valentine Day sayings! I kind of love the cheese!

February: We moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and I was super excited to make our little cookie cutter apartment our own. I decided to test out electrical type on my big white wall.  Ironically, I did not end up using the tape, but I certainly plan on using it on more mediums in the future! Just for fun, here’s what ended up happening in the living room.

March: We got married on 2.22.2012 in our living room. I made 2 fancy invites for our 4 fancy guests. It was simple, peaceful, and fun. Our happy day  : ) Here is the whole wedding shebang if you’re interested: the wedding announcement and plan is here, and then Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 of the living room ceremony. You can find more on the wedding after math here: thank you cards, changing your last name, and the super simple wedding scrapbook.

April: My mom finally made her bottle tree! It’s quirky, fun, and festive. I decided to research how bottle trees came to be… pretty interesting!

May: I love, love my kitchen door organizer thing. It made my FL kitchen so much more usable! Oh, and it only cost $5!

June: I co-hosted a baby shower for my high school BFF in Texas. We did a little man shower theme. A few of the things I really liked was the “Who did it?” game and the mad lib gust book (free printable, if you’re interested)!

July: I gave our living room a thrifty makeover for less than $200! It included felt DIY art, 5 new pillows, lots of spray paint, and a super sale target rug.

August: I was able to attend the Olympics in London (and watch ALL of the gymnastics!), and I wrote about my top 10 London moments. No biggie, but I did sit 5 rows behind Kate at one gymnastics meet!

September: 2 way tie for a craft and a trip. I made a personalized coloring book for my besties son…

and took a last minute road trip to the Florida Keys. We stayed a super cute (gay) inn. Yep, true story.

October: I heart Halloween. It doesn’t get much better then costumes, and candy and the color orange! I’ve never had a mantle, so I usually just spruce up a little nook for holidays. I loved my crafty Halloween nook last October!

November: Simple crafts make me extra happy and these little dinos magnets fit the bill. Literally cut them in half, paint them, and add an magnet… voila! Instant fridge cheer!

 December: This is a true C.R.A.F.T. made from free bottle caps found from the residue of Sandy on my Florida beach. I love turning trash into treasure. Meet my bottle cap Christmas tree.

And there you have it… my personal favorite posts from C.R.A.F.T. for 2012! Do you have a favorite C.R.A.F.T.? Have you ever made a project using one of my tutorials? If so, I’d love to see!
